Steps to Summer ...

As summer approached ...

 - gynastics ended ... sort of.

- thoughts about small decorating changes entered the mind

- sunhats, shorts and tanks were fished out

- a new 'sport' was taken up

-the first local 'festival' was held

- snacks were welcomed after a day of swimming

We are ALMOST caught up here ...

Father's Weekend

Sean's birthday and Father's Day were once again on the same weekend this year. 

We had his favourite meal.

Cadence treated him to some singing ...

And dancing ... scuba gangman style!

As usual, she hammed things up a bit.

They shared a special moment opening the school 'craft'.

Post dinner game time.  One guess as to the winner ...

Thank you for being a great dad and husband ... you still ROCK!

Finally!

Cadence (and mommy) had been 'patiently' waiting to lose the first tooth, especially since 2 new teeth had arrived in behind the bottom row.  Naturally this momentous occasion would occur while Cadence
was at the zoo with the sitter!  Thank you Nicole for sending the pics and taking care of the wee tooth!
I see orthodontic care and BILLS in our future ....

June marked the end of many things, including ballet.

The Things She Says ...

We spent an entire weekend fighting with Cadence to complete a project.

It turns out she HATES writing!

After two days of stress, she got 'er done.

On Monday, Cadence came home with a question:

Mom, what's a job where you don't have to write?

Of course, I told her there wasn't one!

Her response:

What about a gymnast?

You got me there kid!

Cadence:  Mom, why do you have to go walking tonight?

Me:  'Cause I need to get rid of this (points to belly).

Cadence:  Ya know there's a program for that.

It's where you eat healthy foods.

It's called ... weight watchers!

School Stuff

Cadence has had a busy and active couple of weeks at school.

Reciting her poem in front of the school.

Receiving a certificate from the principal.

Cadence also performed in the talent show.
