TWO WEEKS!!!!

That's the short span of time that has elapsed since Cadence's last 'coughing' nightmare. Last night we were up from 11-1 ish with a total of 4 pukes induced by coughing. Today when we got home she pretty much coughed non-stop so I scooped her up and headed to the clinic for a mere 2 hours. We came home with antibiotics, nasal spray and a mission to get in touch with our doctor tomorrow to set up an appointment and try to get to the bottom of things. Cadence puked 40 minutes after injesting the antibiotic ... GREAT!!!! We are currently watching Alvin and the Chipmunks at 10:20 in the evening. There is no reprieve from the cough ... only a couple of more deposits into the bucket! This will undoubtedly be a L O N G night. The only light is that the usual pattern means tonight will be the worst of it ... let's hope so ... we are planning to head north tomorrow after daddy gets home from work. I have little faith that I will be making it in to work myself. Allergies? Asthma? There has to be more to this ... I am at a point of needing answers. Cadence is a trooper but enough is enough!

Why Cadence Doesn't Eat Vegetables...

or anything else she doesn't particularly like or want to try.

Apparently, "it won't go down her throat."

Poolside

After a hard workout,

one needs to relax,

and rest!

The girls,

and the boys.

The girl, the boys and her ice-cream ... likely the fourth of the day!

Good thing we didn't visit the bar as often as the kids visited the ice-cream stand :)

We interrupt the vacation shots ...

to preserve some of Cadence's quotables.
I've been meaning to share her use of the phrase 'extra case', which really translates into 'in case' and 'alligator' which refers to elevator. We'll soon be taking the fun out of those as we coach her on the proper terms ... sad but true.

A few weeks ago we spent a couple of days correcting 'lellow' and then spent 2 days in Jamaica listening to Cadence correct her new little friend on the proper pronunciation of yellow ... she's a bossy one I tell ya!

Yesterday morning she said, 'Mom, I'm being a teenager' ... that means sleeping in, just like Evan, Aidan and Spencer. I'm hoping she'll be that teenager on Saturday (and Sunday!).

Dinners...

As I mentioned, the food was excellent AND plentiful! If you plan to lose weight, an all inclusive is not the way to go ... trust me! We enjoyed many great meals at the buffet and a few a la cartes. The staff were gracious and kept our cups full ... always! Here is the gang:

and Dancing!

Well, there were several opportunities to work off some of the calories. There was dancing at the clubs, the disco, the theatre and even on the beach:

Don't worry, I got my turn too ... luckily, I had control of the camera!

Off Stage Show

It took Cadence a couple of days to participate in the stage shows.
Just off the stage though ... a different story!

She simply was ... the best!

We Have Arrived!

Cadence meets her first and newest BF:

And has her first swim:

The view we woke up to from our deck:

A close up of our personal real estate ... location, location, LOCATION:

The infinity pool and beyond:

The lazy river:

The resort from the beach view:

This was, without a doubt, our best trip yet! The weather was stellar (30+ everyday) with a bit of cloud cover just when you really needed it, the resort ... out of this world, the company ... plenty ... a good mix of ages and interests ... always something to do and someone to do it with! The resort staff was a LOT of fun ... Jamaicans are GREAT people! The food and drinks were excellent. Cadence made some friends, we met new people ... it was ALL good. There isn't anything negative to report ... except that I'm not there anymore!

More to come later ....

As We Were

Haven't loaded the photos yet ... first things first! All the stuff is put away, all the laundry is done, the cupboards and fridge have been restocked and the house is in a state of relative calmness ... I think! We all put in our first day back at work and survived as well. Sean told Cadence he missed her today, Cadence told him she missed Crazy Kenny ... what a kid! She has been singing her Jamaican songs and doing the actions since we got home: We Are the Champions and YMCA ... not what you expected huh? I've a few more items of priority and then I'll fill you in on our trip ... one of our best yet!

It's COLD here ...

We are back and although we know the temperatures were pretty darn good while we were away they have cooled off ... considerably! Of course, when you are comparing it to 30+ degrees ....
We had a fantastic time ... one of the best trips yet ... thanks MARKIE and family!!!! And only one 'situation' 'cause ya know there are no problems in Jamaica!
Lots of stories and photos to post ... eventually.
I'm still needing to clear some room off this computer ... think we might just order a whole new one this week! That's what I'm talking about!

Hey Kristen!

Just today I received the Christmas card I sent you back!
You moved ... I knew that, but forgot (and didn't have your updated info).
I really think it's worth resending ... if I do say so myself!
I couldn't find your email address, and given what you are going through, I didn't want to leave
this silly message on your blog. If you check in here ... send me your updated address somewhere!

Take Care!

Just for the record ... I HEAR you!

Belated Weekend News ...

The weather this weekend was absolutely magnificent! We gratefully took the opportunity to enjoy all the sunshine we could ... we're calling it a practise run!

We also enjoyed entertaining some friends who have come to our rescue! Two lovely ladies will be taking care of our home and our 'boys'. They will have their work cut out for them ... I hope they are up for it!

Here are two princesses enjoying (well not quite), what I thought was a lovely dinner (can someone please pass the KD instead!?):

These same two princesses deny that they are ready for bed ... nice try girls!

One simply MUST toast the weather with a scoop of ice cream:

Absolutely no ducks were fed by our hands!

Could this be the last of the snowmen for the season?

A lookout spot over the ... frozen lake:

Some park time fun ... oh how we have missed you!

Cozying up with a cup of HC ... this teenager wannabe absolutely refused to keep her coat on! I am truly in for it!

This will likely be the one and only update for the week ... we are busy packing and cleaning and checking things off our list. Next stop ... Jamaica mon!

More Hockey and ...

Prior to the BIG GAME, Cadence and her 'class' accompanied the whole student body to attend a hockey game for our school team. There was no shortage of spirit:

On the weekend, I came across a GREAT DEAL (anyone who knows me, knows I CANNOT/WILL NOT, pass up a good deal!). Here's princess dress #3:

Cadence's fashion sense kicked in right away ... she retrieved her princess light up shoes to finish off the 'outfit':
