Poor Little Sick Girl!

We had an absolutely BRUTAL weekend!  Thursday night I noticed Cadence was quite warm so I pulled out the Thermascan which confirmed it ... fever.  A dose of Motrin worked well to bring it down.  By the next morning, it was back ... more Motrin seemed to do the trick.  Cadence was in a good mood most of the day ... she had an awesome time enjoying Martha's kindergarten class for about an hour and outside of her height, seemed to fit in splendidly!  She went out on a date with her Daddy while mommy enjoyed her wine club.  Upon return, Cadence just didn't seem herself. Daddy and I compared notes and realized she hadn't eaten much all day and was becoming quite cranky.  Bedtime was horrible ... awake within 20 minutes of falling asleep.  Mommy had to leave her guest frequently to tend to our girl.  As the night wore on, the fever returned and the guests departed.  After that, no one in this house really got any sleep.  Cadence was drooling a tonne and moaning constantly ... we were sure the final molars were on their descent.  By morning, Cadence was beside herself.  She couldn't eat or drink ANYTHING!!!  I managed to get her down for a nap, but within 30 minutes, the JWs were ringing our door, setting off the dog and waking Cadence.  She was in quite a state!!!  I'm not overly pleasant when they come to begin with ... on this particular day ... I'm hoping I've set the tone and that they'll NEVER grace my doorstep or property again.  Don't mean to offend any readers but ... gotta tell ya, I have huge issues with door to door sales of religion.  Don't come knockin (and definitely don't come ringing the bell!!!!!).  Anyway, as we were.  I was beginning to think there might be something more than the teeth ... Cadence was getting her fingers so far in her mouth she was making herself vomit.  Off to the clinic we went ... good god, the girl had a throat infection ... no wonder she couldn't eat or drink!  We started her on antibiotics and spent a good deal of our time trying to keep her happy and distracted.  That worked well until the chair incident ... which I won't go into, but just know it didn't help at all.  Last night was basically another sleepless night and Cadence as of 4:00 today hasn't really eaten anything ... luckily she has managed to get milk down.  It has been a brutal day so far ... so much so, we ended up back at the clinic.  Right now she has been sleeping for about an hour ... wish I could do the same!  I think we are in for at least one more rough night ... hopefully by tomorrow the antibiotics will have taken most of the pain away ... one can only hope!  So, there you have it ... and how was YOUR weekend?
